Inman Family is a farm-stead producer of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. The estate vineyard, Olivet Grange (OGV) is farmed organically and sustainable practices permeate all aspects of the business.
Visitors are often amused that an artisan winery such as Inman, so closely associated with an organic vineyard, is located in an industrial business park. Yes, Inman is conveniently located just south of Healdsburg and Windsor near the Sonoma County Airport in a warehouse. Although the outward appearance of the location may not speak the sustainable farming ethic, once you are inside, the wines you will sip certainly reflect the love and respect that the vineyards receive. During early 2010, Inman will be moving to a new winery and tasting room which is being built at OGV. Owner and winemaker, Kathleen Inman proudly describes her eco-conscious new building, which makes use of recycled building materials – inside and out, energy efficient lighting and appliances, solar power, and waste water recycling, as "the embodiment of her family’s eco-ethics." In the vineyard and in the winery, Kathleen's attention to detail ultimately leads to the creation of balanced wines; silky texture and beautiful aromatics are signatures of the elegant, luxury wines for which Inman is known. "Pinot is the most feminine of grapes," she explains, "and it is those pretty florals, delicate textures and seductive earthy notes that define my Pinot Noirs." To explore these elegant and distinctive wines, drop by Thursday through Monday between 11-4. You may also make an appointment for Tuesday-Wednesday.
