THE LIBRARY A spectacular library, worthy of the fine wines it holds mixed with a collection of leather-bound books are awaiting the guest who wishes to relax in front of a crackling fire, reading and sipping a glass of wine or port before retiring for the night. CYRUS Cyrus, featuring "contemporary luxury cuisine" has opened its doors at the new Les Mars Hotel in Healdsburg. The restaurant is a joint project of fine dining veterans maitre d Nick Peyton and executive chef Douglas Keane and is named for Cyrus Alexander, the pioneer namesake of the neighboring Alexander Valley. Cyrus is an intimate restaurant – only 65 seats – and designed to bring the feel of the French countryside to the dining room. The menu has strong classic French influences interlaced with contemporary, global accents. LOCAL ACTIVITIES Healdsburg, located only 67 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, is the quintessential wine country town, combining the best of small-town America with upscale boutiques, restaurants, art galleries and local micro farms and gardens. In addition to the many amenities available at the hotel and in the town, more than 60 wineries are located within a ten mile drive of Les Mars, including award-winning wineries in the celebrated appellations of Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Russian River Valley.
