SONOMA COUNTY—Though the days may be hot, Sonoma County's August nights are sizzling with a lineup of music, food and fun that will have you spreading your blanket on the cool, green grass all month. With a virtual guarantee of good weather (and mercifully temperate evenings), the end of summer is packed with after-dark activities for the whole family—from movies on the lawn to fairs, blues, barbeques and some good old shimmy shaking. So grab your lawn chairs and come along. Summer won't last forever!

Sonoma County Fair
July 24 - August 7
Rides, cotton candy, flowers, homemade apple pie and all the farm animals you can possibly stand, the Sonoma County Fair is an old-fashioned hoe-down. Windsor Summer Nights on the Green
Moonlight Movies 1st and 3rd Thursdays at Dusk
Live Music, BBQ 2nd and 4th Thursdays 5pm
Through August 31

Cloverdale Friday Night Live
August 4
A live, open-air performance in downtown Cloverdale Plaza, brought to you by the Cloverdale Arts Alliance. Annual Jazz in the Meadow, Healdsburg

Movies in the Park, Petaluma

Healdsburg's Annual Street Dance
August 12
